about

Johnny Outdoors, born of rock, could no longer ignore the steady tectonic pulse he felt deep within his chest. He heard the call of the earth that birthed him- heard it grow from a whispered click to the thunderous boom of the world's volcanic hour hand. He shed his clothes and set forth in search of his sun-kissed brethren, jumping from island to island, looking for the soil that matched the flavour of his soul. Wandering blissfully across the land, he was drawn to the singular beauty of the moon. A beacon sounding down from high above the snow-capped peaks of Miss America's knees.

Deep in the mountains he would sit. Smoke foreign plants and think back to his life in the city. Deep inhalations fill his lungs with heady draughts of forest plants and take his mind back to those same rushes from a cigarette. Animal drama playing out like the hypnotic visions of T.V.X., the hypnotic powers of T.V.X., a darkly enchanted reality from which he'd managed to peel his eyes. And now he gazes upon clear mountain streams that bubble and remind him of his old love Kate Cod and her glorious, shining hair. Hair full of sea creatures, hair soaked in the ocean to which she was bound to return, to answer the call of the sea girls. Hearing her song in the waves as Johnny had heard his in the rocks.

He had found his joy in those mountains, bounding around, drinking in the beauty, swilling the vigorous lifeblood of existance in his mouth, running his tongue along creation and biting off great chunks of the world's ripe fruit. Swallowing it down and soaking in earthly unity. Bathing in the cosmic harmony. One with the universe.

Track Name: Heart of Quartz
That’s the weight of my heart, love, that’s the weight of my heart of quartz.
That’s the weight of my heart, love, oh I can hardly keep time.

Oh, Johnny O. show me how to keep time moving like a line dancer grooving to a world to an oldvolanic beat.
Oh, Johnny O. show me to make time with those minute hands, you prayed I could be made of some cold mechanic meat.

That’s the weight of my heart, love, that’s the weight of my heart of quartz.
That’s the weight of my heart, love, oh I can hardly keep time.

Oh, Johnny O. wake up, wake up smell the bacon, it’s your own flesh cooking on the coals of time.
Oh, Johnny O. wake up, stand up feel your skin now you’re a bona fide synthetic man, come and hold me tight.

There’s a way out. There’s a way!
There’s a way out west, show the way out to the place where the people grow, a place where the people show me how to live, how to love, and how to keep time.

Because, keeping time it satisfies, when you got no boot to shine.
Keeping time it satisfies your mind when, your kind ends.

Oh, Johnny O. show me how to make time.
Oh, Johnny O. show me how to love.

That’s the weight of my heart, love, that’s the weight of my heart of quartz.
That’s the weight of my heart, love, oh I can hardly keep time.
Track Name: Golden Bums
Lead me over the ground beneath me- over the sparkling blue sea- and into the depths of my heart.
Feed me anything ripe that can reach me- of the beautiful fruit tree- and sprout the growth of my heart.

There could never of been a bad side to her I swear- her lipstick’s like the red paint on the moon.
There could never of been a misguided golden bum- when her eyes light up a beacon over noon.

Try as you might, you can never get lost, when you look to the sky and you see her at night.
Try as you might, you can never get lost, so give her your body and you’ll never get old.
Try as you might you can never get lost.
Try as you might you can never get lost.

I don’t care what people say ‘bout what we gon find there.
I don’t care what people say ‘bout what we gon find there.
I don’t care what people say- we’re goin’ where we can be free.
I don’t care what people say ‘bout what we gon find there.

Lose me to the creature that is me- to the animal in me- and let me lose on your heart.
Treat me like a wandering new seed- like a vigorous heathen- and swallow me into your heart.

Why a man going up into the mountains should only take mind, spirit and body- if he wants to climb with god in his body.
Why a man going up into the mountains should really take nothing else but his body- if he wants to climb with god in his body.
Track Name: The Snow-Capped Knees of Miss America
O, Miss America!
O, Miss America!

Bearded gold diggers lookin’ deep for a piece of your soul.
I dive into your belly button hole- clear water pool.
Lay back and let your hair flow down on through the plains,
I lick the melted drops of rainwater running down your legs from snow-capped knees.

O, Miss America!
O, Miss America!

O, you want to love her? O, you want to climb her? O, you want to travel her? Do you want to settle her?

Feel the rumbling stomach on the open plain.
Herds of grazing buffalo roam across her shoulder blades.
And if you gaze upon her eyelid shimmer in the desert heat-
you’ll wanna lay down in the dirt with a naked miss america.

See black blood run through her body- we drill down and out it pours.
She holds new dawn in her belly- see it stretch taut as morning breaks.

As I run along your soft forearm through fields of yellow wheat-
the atmosphere forever in my mouth, i am in love with it.
I’d build a log cabin on your chest so I could always gaze upon-
snow-capped knees and those thigh line trees, O, Miss America.

O, Miss America!
O, Miss America!
O, Miss America!
O, Miss America!
Track Name: Tobacco
Black tobacco, cracked skin. black tobacco.
Black tobacco, cracked skin. black tobacco.

Black tobacco guides a boats hull-
take sail, lead 'em away-
to find a foreign plant-
he can grow enlightened to.

Soul of a mad crocodile-
as he jumps from island to isle-
as he fills up his hollow lungs,
with a tree and fire soup.

Tobacco. O!
Tobacco. O!

Black tobacco paints a man's skin,
burnt oil will never begin,
to hide his manic grin,
now he's taking off his clothes.

Hairy torso and a shaved head-
dress like an animal, the buddha said.
Grab him by the copper ring-
hanging from his nose.

Run! While you live, the mountain stays green,
the alchemist keeps turning the dirt into gold.
Run! While you live, the madman stays lean,
his yellow teeth keep chewing his spit into gold.

Johnny Outdoors is gonna get black tobacco in his throat- he's a big pig at heart.

Tobacco, O!
Tobacco, O!

Black tobacco, cracked skin, black tobacco, O!
Black tobacco hang in your throat, tobacco hang in your throat. Black tobacco!

Black tobacco gives a mans sight,
burn up and give him the might-
to climb the mountaintop,
and shout his barbaric cry.

Smoke billows out when he yells,
thunder clappin’ like hell-
when his ego flakes and rises up,
up into the sky.

Tobacco, O!
Tobacco, O!
Track Name: Ego Dance, Ultra
She dance with her ego hangin’ out,
moonlit figurehead we talk about.
Ain’t no bit of her is holdin’ out-
she could fly if we just let her go.

You could put anything on-
I know I could dance to it.
You could put anything on-
I know I could dance to it.

Cut yourself into wrigglin’ parts.
There’s love in me I know.
Seed the ground with a piece of your heart-
if you can be me i can you.

She don’t need no-one to keep eye on.
She don’t need no-one to rely on.
She don’t need no-one to keep eye on.
She don’t need no-one to rely on.

That girl gonna go and break it out-
cosmic power free to move about,
rise up with a wakening shout.
She can fly if we just let her go.

You could put anything on- I know I could dance to it.
You could put anything on- I know I could dance to it.
You could put anything on. There’s love in me, I know.
You could put anything on. There’s love in me, I know.

She dance with her ego hangin’ out.
Everybody wants to lay her down- but she only wants move.
She dance with her ego hangin’ out.
Everybody wants to lay her down- but she only wants move.
She dance with her ego hangin’ out.
Everybody wants to lay her down- but she only wants move.
She dance with her ego hangin’ out.
Everybody wants to lay her down- but she only wants move.
Track Name: T.V.X.
T.V.X.

TV- if I own it I will watch it.
TV- watch a tv, own a tv.
TV- if i own it i will watch it.
TV on!

One time, I sat down and saw on my TV someone playing dead- a gun right by their head.
Some extended contemporary viewing led me to perceive that- Oh! They weren't pretending- they were dead.

I should have know, I should I should have seen it in the signs.
The shape of man unwrinkles, melting in the beam.
New shift to light! Don’t turn on me, my modern man.
Naked climbs the lightning- you’re beyond eye.

T.V.X. is crazy! T.V.X. is crazy. Oh, why didn’t I believe them when they told me it had a mind of it’s own?

I sat back down and tried another channel where I saw a man, with a lady, kissing her like crazy.
They were kissin’, they were touchin’, but he never held her hand. So I could see they were pretending- it wasn't true love.

Two cells, but of a brain. Now soldered in the thought- of what individuality dissolving in the waves.
To an image of an image! Once replicating lives- now reimagined versions of earlier times.

T.V.X. is crazy! T.V.X. is crazy. O, why didn’t I believe them when they told me it had a mind of it’s own?

Who’s gonna turn it off?
Who’s gonna turn up with the power?
Who’s gonna turn it off?
Who’s gonna turn up with the power?

TV!

Oh, it’s alright- you can keep your TV on.
Oh, it’s alright- you can keep your TV on.
Yeah, it’s alright- you can keep your TV on.
Oh, it’s alright- you can keep your TV on.

This isn’t TV- this isn’t TV as i know it- ain’t no foolin’ me.
This isn’t TV- this isn’t TV and I know it- ain’t no foolin’ me.
This isn’t TV- this isn’t TV as i know it- ain’t no foolin’ me.
This isn’t TV- this isn’t TV and I know it- ain’t no foolin’ me.

This isn’t TV as I know it!
If I knew it I would stop!
This isn’t TV as I know it!
If I knew it I would turn it off!
Track Name: Sea Girls
She could have been an old pair of claws,
scuttling across the pacific floor.
Got a magic lantern lit to her home,
she’s a mermaid’s song who haunts what it wants.

She’s a sea girl at heart- make the mariana trench her home.
She’s a sea girl at heart.

She could never find an oyster shell that would open,
even that fancy restaurant in Milan.
She could never find a pair of shoes that would stay on,
her arms they’re known with the golden bracelet on.

With it on, with it always on. With it on ’til the day is done.
Does she dare disturb the universe- will she take it off and run?
It’s a go! It’s a go!
Do what Thelma do, get your Thelma and your Louise on.

Sea girl, sea girl’s gone, gone to find her seaward home.
Sea girl, sea girl’s gone, gone a-riding on seaward- home.

Man, I can feel it in my bones, she ain’t ever coming home.
Man, I can feel it in my bones, she ain’t ever coming home
But do I want her to? Did I ever say I want her to?
It’s a grander love, it’s a grander love.
It’s a kinder love, it’s a kinder love.

I like her better now she’s part-
I like her better now she’s part of a grander love.
Track Name: Kate Cod
She’d never stay out the ocean long-
her skin would dry out in the sun.
Naiad singing out in a song,
“sea girl, come back where you belong”.

Seaweed all tangled up in her hair,
a necklace of live coral she’d wear.
A pair of star fish on her cheeks,
walking with barnacles on her feet.

O, if you could have seen Kate Cod- out in the early morning surf!
O, if you could have seen Kate Cod- naked and free in the cerulean waves!

I don’t want to catch Kate Cod- I just want a free Kate Cod.
I don’t want to eat Kate Cod- I just want to be Kate Cod!

O, Kate Cod feels the fish in her belly.
Feels it swimming around down in her gut,
feels it’s tiny mouth nibbling on her soul.
Now it’s wriggling and bubbling up from within!
Let it swim up your throat, surf along your tongue- burst forth from between your lips!
Grab onto it's tail as it soars toward the sea and ride it out into your ocean home!
Track Name: The God's Iron Tongue
If you want a god in my head,
running round and eating all I am fed,
with a hungry zest to my zen-
come on and get right in there!

There’s a rock that I know well,
when I slap my tongue into the great bowl,
of the world served up.
Now swallow it right down you!

When a volcano does erupt,
open up and let the magma and fire in,
to swill around in your gut.
Ripe and golden inside you!

And if you want, the god’s iron tongue,
you can feed your second soul with my sacred skin-
and taste the whole of my head.

Who doesn’t want a taste of me?
Who doesn’t want a taste of me?
Who doesn’t want a taste of me?
Who doesn’t want a taste of me?

She don’t! She don’t wanna get burnt!
It’s gonna be my iron tongue.
She don’t! She don’t wanna get burnt!
Come and get to know my iron tongue!

She don’t! She don’t wanna get burnt!
It’s gonna be my iron tongue.
She don’t! She don’t wanna get burnt!
I don’t even know my iron tongue!
We don’t! We don’t wanna get burnt!
Look into the man with iron tongue!
We don’t! We don’t wanna get burnt!
Come and see my iron tongue.

And if you want a taste of my head-
you can get the hunger out of my breath,
with the forest baking our bread.
You could just get right in there!

There’s a fork- a fork in my hand,
and I might just dig it right in deep,
and take a bite of the land.
And swallow it right down there!

There’s a whole creation in my sight,
and I might just walk right up the edge,
and jump right off of the plate!
And I won’t climb back up there!

And if you get, the god’s iron tongue,
you can eat the mountain whole, and the ocean trawl-
and feed it back to your head!

Who doesn’t want a taste of me?
Who doesn’t want a taste of me?
Who doesn’t want a taste of me?
Who doesn’t want a taste of me?

Could you fall in love with an iron tongue?
Could you taste her lips with an iron tongue?
